The steady efforts of the researchers studying the Sundarbans Reserved Forest are vital to the policy and conservation outcomes that impact the wellbeing of the region. Bangladesh Ecotourism and Conservation Alliance (BECA) is working to strengthen the research system in the Sundarbans and improve the knowledge base. The Sundarbans Researchers Network aims to facilitate productive research by connecting the individuals and organizations in the research community with a shared interest in the Sundarbans. Through an organized database, the Researchers Network promotes ongoing research efforts so current and future researchers can stay informed on potential collaboration opportunities. By working closely with Khulna University, the program also enhances local research efforts by fostering international partnerships. The Network also provides a stronger platform for the dissemination and accessibility of research findings to further inform and influence management practices and policy decisions across Bangladesh.
BECA welcomes all researchers (including novices who want to start their research careers) with diverse backgrounds and research experiences in biology, marine science, climate change, social science, economics, culture, archaeology, anthropology, and so on. BECA invites all interested minds to come forward and join the Sundarbans Researchers Network.
